Book of the Week: The Sky-Crasher
The Sky-Crasher by L. Ron Hubbard
Book Synopsis:
Caution is a second-generation ace pilot desperately trying to bury his past and the memories of his father—a daredevil barnstormer who perished trying to wow crowds and killed Caution's mother from the shock.
Now Caution has worked his way up the ladder as an ultra-efficient, ultra-conservative general manager of a small airline struggling to make ends meet. When the US Post Office puts its international delivery service up for grabs to the first airline that can successfully circumnavigate the globe and outperform every other airline, Caution's boss presses him into competing for the contract.
Against his better judgement, Caution throws his name to the wind, risking the hazards of the round-world air race. Joined by a fiery blonde stunt flyer as his female co-pilot, he begins the journey only to discover that a rival airline is trying to sabotage their every move.

Hostage to Death by L. Ron Hubbard
Book Synopsis:
Legionnaire Bill Reilly was given specific orders to guard a railroad station where nightly trains carrying Spanish supplies and troops pass by. He would have done so had it not been for a severed hand that arrived in his camp. The grizzled token carried a taunting message from a renegade Berber chieftain, claiming capture of an Englishwoman named Kay MacArthur and challenging the Legion to rescue her. Reilly's sense of honor overrides all. He takes up the gauntlet knowing full well he could be walking into a trap—with deadly consequences.

L. Ron Hubbard Presents Writers and Illustrators of the Future - The 29th Annual Event - Book Review and Giveaway - 3 Winners - Ends 5/20
As many of you know, L. Ron Hubbard is one of the most successful writers of all time, writing more than 135 short stories, novellas and novels, and selling over fifty million copies to date. Knowing first hand the difficulties a writer goes through in trying to become successful, Hubbard took on the role as a mentor to new writers.
Always believing in the philosophy of "paying it forward", Hubbard wanted to help as many writers as possible. In 1983 he took his fostering to a whole new level when he created the 'Writers of the Future Contest', which gave new and undiscovered science fiction and fantasy writers a chance at their dreams. Soon to follow the Writer of the Future was it's companion, Illustrators of the Future. This allowing undiscovered artists to submit their work as well.
Every single year since, writers and artists from around the world have submitted some of the most amazing pieces of work, and have seen their dreams come true.
